Martin Postma is the Principal Planner for the City of Thornton, where he has also served as a member of the Pension Committee for the past several years. Martin’s expertise includes land use planning & plan implementation, fiscal analysis, sustainable community development, hazard mitigation & resilience planning, and commercial urban renewal.

After serving in the US Air Force, Martin graduated with a BA from Central College in Pella, Iowa and later completed a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University. He holds several professional certifications in the fields of economic development and community planning as well as the Accredited Asset Management Specialist credential from the College for Financial Planning. Martin is a long-time Rotarian with considerable international experience, and he currently serves as the president of the Poetry Society of Colorado.
